Sharing With Sincerity

There have been a few recent media pieces that are causing many to take pause, think about their work space and how they are treating their brothers and sisters. Past and current experiences, never mentioned out loud before are being shared amongst close friends and confidants in many different circles that are nothing short of heartbreaking. There are so many heartfelt stories out there of folks that have practically gone down in flames not only professionally but personally as well, because of troubles they were having at work. Many of these stories occur in male dominated professions, but it is not only the females who suffer. We are also hearing more and more that there are men experiencing some of the same issues when it comes to bullying and harassment in general, its not just sexual.

Some are comfortable sharing their name when they confess or pour out their pain and frustration but many are not because the fear of retaliation is real. Feel free to share your story here in the comments and remain anonymous, you can leave all of the contact info blank if needed. If you would like to enter your email address so that I can follow up, you may do so, it will not show in your public comment. If you choose to share your name that is okay too. Either way you will be sharing an experience that will help others going through the same thing where they work realize they are not alone. Sometimes when a victim reads another’s story it pulls them off of the lonely island they have been desperately trying to survive on. Names and locations can be shared when necessary, I only ask that you take the power of this site seriously and speak only the truth. Employer/agency name and or locations would be helpful in identifying trends but not required. Do not post names based on rumor. Please use this opportunity to help those out there who doubt the validity of victims see that harassment and bullying is really happening out there and it has been for a long time. Even if you are not a victim but maybe someone who stood up for another, or witnessed an incident, we want to hear from you too. And to the few brave out there who are willing to admit you either were guilty of such treatment or silently stood by and allowed poor behavior in your workplace, hearing your stories would be extremely powerful. Above all solutions are always welcome to any post on this site.
